PROPOSAL

Rationale

Throughout the year I was in College, I have learnt how to operate many different applications, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and other Adobe products. During also my time at college, I have also learnt how to create Foley Sounds (which are sounds created by different objects) such as rain droplets dropping down by using rice and a piece of paper and a door squeaking sound by using a balloon. Furthermore, I have also learnt how to operate a camera and record with it, so that I could create my own teaser trailer. Those trailers also served as a way for me to learn how to create motion graphics, such as a piece of text spinning and slowly appearing and making text look like it is being squashed by another piece of text. Therefore, I have decided to do a teaser trailer as my Final Major Project, as most of the lessons that we were taught were made up of learning how to create different types of videos. Furthermore, doing this project will allow me to showcase my skills at creating videos, as I aspire to become a content creator that creates stories for people to watch and videos to entertain people. To do this task, I will need to research different horror teaser trailers and see what exactly is shown and done there.

Project Concept

For my Final Major Project, I am planning to do Project, which is to create a 60-90 second teaser trailer for an either upcoming film, already made film or a made-up film. My main aim for this project is create a short but ominous teaser trailer for my made-up movie called “He’s Here,” focusing on telling what has happened before the movie takes place and to properly create this teaser trailers, I would have to review and see a major range of teaser trailers for different horror movies to fully understand where exactly they input their music and creepy scenes. However, during my research, I would also have to figure out my own ways to make my teaser trailer more ominous and more unsettling. However, this project’s quality will not be as high as every other teaser trailer for horror movies that came out, potentially making it less pleasing. For this project, I am also planning to create a couple concepts of how the teaser trailer could potentially look like, to see which one in execution would look better. Some of the resources I may require might be slightly costly, as some equipment I might use will be vintage equipment, such as old TV screens. However, I do not know how many times I would have to utilise the studio for, as I am unsure if the studio that is provide will have enough space.

EVALUATION

Over the course of creating my FMP, I will be creating weekly blogs which would often contain an evaluation of what exactly I have done, what kind of adjustments I made and what I could do in the future if I was to do the same process again. To showcase changes, I could insert the previous design/version of an image or concept, and next to it would the updated/final version of the design, with text going alongside it is explaining the changes that were made. In my evaluations, if I were to work with other people in the project, I would also include how exactly they worked from my point of view, and I would also mention any potential ways to fix issues if there is a way.
